1976 BMW 2002. 4 speed, 32/36 Weber carb, Ansa exhaust, 14” BBS wheels, Hella driving lights, headlights and European front side markers. All gauges work, runs and shifts well. Clutch slave and master new. Starter is marginal but functional (new Bosch 80.00). All receipts for work done. Steel in trunk, rear shock towers, spare tire well and around gas tank in good condition.
Miles?
Any major work that's been done? Engine rebuild?
How good is the suspension etc? Does it drive pretty well and tight?
I didn't dig too hard but I couldn't find it exactly. It's about 110hp? 2200ish pounds?
122K miles. It sat for about a year and a half until I got it around Thanksgiving 09. (Used to be M. Marable's old car, out of Salem) I tuned it up and fixed all the niggling things, (horn relay, high beam relay, alt bushings, etc.) Put a clutch and slave cylinder in it because it was mushy. German parts through Omni. When I did the valves they were spot on with only a couple exhaust that needed adjustment. I think it drive great, doesn't wander, feels tight to me. PO removed the spacers from the front strut tops to lower it a bit. Tires look new but are hard. Some rust but I have seen a lot worse in these cars. Where it should have rust, it doesn't.
What else... dash has no cracks, all gauges work, Hella driving lights and European flatface headlights, european front markers. Ansa exhaust, BBS wheels bottom of driver's seat need attention, needs a starter soon as the solenoid is marginal at best, Bosch unit for about 80.00. Don't think the engine has been rebuilt, but the car is spry to say the least.
This car is sitting at the bottom of the driveway getting no love, wife would rather drive the Mini, I can't get the mountain bike in it so I take the 300TD wagon to Bennett springs.
I'm leaning towards a newer 5 series wagon, so this one is up for sale.
