For Sale: STS2 1988 CRX Si -- Bubba -- SOLD
***SOLD***
Well, I had great fun campaigning Bubba this year, and had a great time taking it to Nationals. The plan all along was for this to be a one year stint-- I'm moving on to build a track car.
So, Bubba is for sale! The price is $6000.
The car was built by Bill Bounds, Heyward Wagner, and Jim Reyenga (I believe), and purchase from Bill in December of last year. It's rust free (except for the sunroof panel) and weighs 1879 lbs with a quarter tank of gas, and 1901 with half a tank.
Details:
Total engine rebuild, with a fresh head
new clutch
poly bushings, everywhere
Momo racing seat
a/c removed
radio removed
-Suspension
Koni SPSS3 race shocks
Skunk2 adjustable coil over kit
430lb springs front
500lb spring rear
hf front swaybar
Suspension Techniques adjustable rear swaybar with endlink kit
Rear camber kit
Neuspeed front strut tower brace
-Wheels & Tires
15x7 Enkei RPF1s and new shaved Bridgestone RE-01Rs (4 events on the tires)
Stock 14x5 wheels with ES100s
-Engine
AEM Cold Air Intake
DC Sport 4-2-1 header
Supertrapp Muffler exiting just behind the driver
Unorthodox lightweight underdrive pulley
-Misc
Lightweight Interstate Jumpbox battery
New alternator
New brake master cylinder
braided brake lines
Rotors machined to service limit
New radiator
-Issues
There is also a large dent right in front of the fuel filler door, maybe the size of a grapefruit.
The bolts that hold the discs on the Supertrapp muffler sheared off, so the discs cannot be used to quiet the exhaust for street driving. The paint isn't very shiny, and the interior has some rough wear spots.
-Further development:
If I were keeping it, I'd add a front camber kit, upgrade the CPU, and change the fuel tank to a 90-91 tank so it can run less fuel without starvation.
Please PM me if you're interested or if I can answer any questions.

That's too bad, it was fun trying to run down the CRX, I hope the car stays in the region. So what's next (944 in the back ground?)

This is definetly a great buy for someone. The little time I had behind the wheel of this thing really made me jealous.
Good luck with the sale Will, someone should pick this up pretty quickly.

As I understand it, that is incorrect. I believe that the 90-91 fuel tank part number supercedes the 88-89 part number, and is therefore a legitimate change.00GTJustin wrote:Just fyi- changing out the fuel tank as was suggested is illegal for STS2

You got it! It's a 1986 944 Turbo that hadn't run in ten years before I got it. It's now faster in a straight line than the S2000! It'll make a great track car (and some non-competitive fun in B Stock).Scott wrote:That's too bad, it was fun trying to run down the CRX, I hope the car stays in the region. Makes sense...I think we went through that before and it sounds familiar. Sorryteamking wrote:As I understand it, that is incorrect. That was quick. Is it staying local?

^^^ Unfortunately, no. It's going to a couple from Nebraska who ran STS2 and saw the car at Nats.

Wow that fast! Too bad its not local though, would have been nice to just watch it under the control over another set of hands and feet.
