I am looking at wheel options for my 1991 Miata to maybe go back to E-Street. The original wheels were 14x5.5, so I would be able to go to a 15x5.5 and still be within the rules, and have a MUCH better selection of tires. The 15x5.5 wheels from the Minis look like they would work, 4x100 bolt pattern, 45mm offset, not sure of the hub diameter, but I think it is slightly larger than the Miata wheel.
Has anyone used the Mini wheels on a Miata, or know why they might not work?
Does the Mini use lug bolts and are they the same size as the Miata studs?
I think the taper for the lugs is different between the Miata wheels and the Mini wheels.
Anything else?

Re: 15x5.5 Mini Wheels
Googling 15 x 5 1/2 and 4 x 100 yielded these vehicles:
Ford Escort ZX2
Kia Rio
Honda Fit
Mini
I didn't check the center bore on these wheels. If you can find one that's larger then you can probably find hubcentric adapter rings on e-bay
It's depressing to try and find wheels for older sports car for street class. The last time I Googled 14 x 7 wheels for the MR2 the biggest selection was for wheels that fit a 4 wheel ATV!

Re: 15x5.5 Mini Wheels
Mini wheels will work just fine, you might have to use different lugnuts ("tuner lugnuts") depending on which wheel you actually use, but that should be all. I wouldn't worry about the hub diameter, you can use rings, or nothing at all, it doesn't really matter. I've used wheels with a different hub diameter for years on my Spec Miata without any issues.gnalaj wrote:I am looking at wheel options for my 1991 Miata to maybe go back to E-Street.
