Any bets as to where the runoffs are moving? I've heard COTA as a possibility. Favorable fall weather and a mid-continent location. Road course at Indy was another suggestion so nobody would have a home track advantage.

Word on the Racing boards, is that the Runoffs are moving to the West Coast for 2014. Not sure if it will be for 1 to 3 years,
there, or if will will alternate to the West Coast every other or 3rd year. COTA would be a great location.

Carl and I are not planning to attend the Runoffs if it is any farther west than Road America. It is too much of a traditional Road Trip event to fly.

The announcement says 2014-16 so it looks like 3 years. If the west coast which track?

I had heard 3 different tracks over that 3 year period , one West , one East , one mid ,,but I also heard COTA for the same.

Reading the comments of the BoD implies it would move annually, rather than than do three year contracts. This may be why they elected to do promo themselves, rather than make it part of the package.

I think that would be ideal, as anybody local to the venues has a significant advantage.

I'm watching with interest- would love to make another RO's run, but only if it's within a reasonable driving distance.

Three locations it is –
Sports Car Club of America, Inc. today announced the locations of the next three SCCA® National Championship Runoffs®, including a long-awaited trip to the west coast and return appearances to two historic venues. National Champions will be crowned at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2014, Daytona International Speedway in 2015 and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2016.
Daytona is going to be a long course for some classes. Get on the oval, pedal to the metal and take a nap.

Woo-hoo, back to the East Coast and then Mid-Ohio! Great decision to move it every year- reduces the home court advantage and maybe prevents some of the car-picking based on the track.

Next year is off the table, but after that I'll have to think about it!

You know you want to drive Laguna Seca :D But without an arrive and drive, it's a 2 week trip minimum.
