2 day autocrosses

Post by glenthompson »

For the past couple of years the Commonwealth Games autocross has been a 2 day, double points event. How do people like this format? Would you like more double points events?

I really like 2 day events, but we don't have many opportunities or locations that lend themselves well to that idea. The competition is great and the comraderie that is included is second to none. AFterall, after family what more interesting, entertaining and better group to spend time with. The only downside for most that I can see is dedicating an entire weekend to our sport. It tends to spread attendance out a bit over the 2 days because of conflicts/work.

I prefer 2 day events... no additional prep and travel for a two day compared to a single day event. Plus you have down time to visit with members and bench race during a diner outing between autocrosses... what could be better.

I like the 2-day autocrosses -- I am able to justify the trip down if it is for two days. I vote for more 2- day weekends.

Miss you guys!! Have a great holiday!!

I like the 2 day format as well but not too many of them. I'm still disappointed in missing the Games this year because of car problems. I guess if we start doing more 2 day events, it'll force me to fix things earlier.

A 2 day Solo I, Solo II would be good to add back in. Maybe Patriot Course at VIR for Solo I and move to the airport for auto-x?

I like this format also. While the Patriot course is $$ to get, I really enjoyed the Solo Trial we did at Danville 2 years ago followed by a regular autox the next day.

I like 2 day auto-x, but having points events both days should be limited for people that can't make the whole weekend. 2 day events with the first day being a test & tune and the second day being a points event is a good alternative.

Happy holidays to everyone.

I'm cool with 2day events, can't wait to actually make the games for once this year, and that super-regional back in the day at Verona was pretty fun. BUT, too many of those (that aren't in Verona) could rack up some hotel bills. But I'm definately happy with the Commonwealth Games being a 2 day event.

I'm game for 2 day events for sure! Hopefully the wagon will be finished in time to make a appearance since I've lined up a truck and trailer this year for everything (minus the verona event since its so close)
