BRR Tech check list update

Post by diggles240 »

Let's continue the 'fine tuning' and updates of posted Solo documents:

http://www.brr-scca.org/Documents/BRRTech.pdf

Obviously, the broomstick test needs to be added to the Tech check list. Please add comments/revisions as you see fit.

I can edit the document when everything is settled.

Thanks,
Kevin

BUMP

Anything to add other than the broomstick test? It would be nice to have this in writing for VAC.

It may or may not be approved by the BOD for in time for VAC, but the safety committee has recommended that floormats be allowed to stay so long as they are secured from moving forward. See the May Fastrack page 3.

Should we add a requirement for contrast between car panel color and tape (when used)? We've had several blue vehicles with blue painters tape used to display numbers and class. This could have been caught in tech and fixed way before the start of the event.

Speaking of decals, they need to be on the vehicle before tech inspection OR IT DOESN"T PASS. Get out of line, put them on, then go to the back of the line to go through tech again.

Lots of times new drivers don't know class until tech inspection, in which the tech inspector assists them. As for numbers...they get those at registration. We always run short on tape and at one time were requiring a deposit on said tape rolls..not sure what ever happened to that. I could see us needing 10 to 20 rolls at each event to account for the rolls that are out for extended periods of time, so if we require numbers before tech, we may be closer to the 20 rolls. Just my observations.

given the number of events left until the end of the year, I don't think we need any more. We will make sure to order more next year based on what was used this year.

Does anyone know the inventory status of the tape? I know there was still a fair amount in the supply box at the last Danville event - a lot of blue and (1) roll of green.

When I have done waivers, I believe the tape has generally been returned when borrowed. But, I do not allows notice if it is returned especially if I am busy. In the future, when I hand tape to someone, I will ask them to return it to me.
