STS prepped 1990 Miata

Post by Scott »

I have been offered a great oppertunity for this coming race season so I need to come up with some cash to make it happen, thus my STS Miata is for sale. If you 've autocrossed in the region any time since 2005, you've seen the car. The only thing that doesn't work on the car is the cruise control. Since I have had the car it has been repainted and garaged/covered since the day I purchased it. For the last several years it has been trailed to events, and it hasn't been driven in the rain unless it started while at an event. Listed below are the modifications done, I'm sure I am missing something and I am happy to answer any questions about the car. It is ready to run and win STS as is, or as it demonstrated at the last Verona event, throw on a set of 225 Hoosiers and win CSP.
1990 Miata:
133k
PW, PS, AC, VLSD
Soft and hardtop
Front and rear factory R-package spoilers

Mods:
Custom Intake
Koni's w/ Ground Control coilovers
Racing Beat Exhaust (header included but not currently installed)
FM high flow cat
Racing Beat sway bars F&R
Hard Dog rollbar
15in Chaparal wheels with Toyo R1R's

Results:
'05, '06, '09, '11 BRR regional champion
2005 SE Divisional winner (only divisional the car has ran)
Fasted Non-Posche at the last PCA autocross (and fasted car on street tires)
Too many BRR-SCCA, VMSC, PCA, and NASA local event wins to count.

$5,500

Well that didn't pan out the way I had hoped. Both cars basically sold, but I got confirmation that my racing deal isn't going to happen for this season so I am keeping the cars.

I have to admit, ol red cost me some sleep the last two nights. I think I was actually crunching numbers and counting pennies in my sleep last night. That said, I'm glad you get to keep it, but sorry the racing opportunity didn't pan out.

Yeah kind of mixed emotions. I was working with an upstart team based in Charlottesville to co-drive the rest of the Continental Series races this year in a Boxster and needed to come up with some quick cash, but then it fell apart real quickly...... Didn't really want to sell my red car, but with a chance to run at that level seemed too good an opportunity to pass up
