Re: Sad news
For those that might be newer with the club and didn't know Scott too well, he often worked the 2nd shift of Tech with me before events. He was a fierce competitor and I most remember the epic battle he had with Ray in GS a few years ago where at the end of the season they were both co-champions in the class (tied on the number of 1st, 2nd & 3rd places iirc).

Scott, you WILL be missed. I really enjoyed our conversations about cars, work, different modifications that would be legal in ST*, etc.

I'll be attending both services if anyone needs a ride from the Christiansburg Blacksburg area and wants to attend, can probably fit 2 if need be.

I'd attend if it weren't for another funeral I have to attend. Suffice to say, I've had a great weekend </sarcasm>

Re: Sad news
This is terrible. He was a great guy, always funny, and never held anything back letting his opinion be known. I really didn't get to know him til this year when I started talking to him about getting a rwd car at the Danville event, and from then on talking at every event about the Z3 and taking ride alongs in it. He was a great driver and great guy and will be missed.

Re: Sad news
Due to Scott's great presence to our region I'm thinking we should retire his number (46) for our events.

Re: Sad news
Very shocking news. I recently co drove Scotts BMW to give him my driving impression of his car and rode with him to see if I could help him during his transitional learning of a R
WD car.
Great guy that will be missed.
Wish I could make either of the services but I just can't due to family and work obligations.
I'm extremely interested to see what the police find out about the situation. It sure sounds like someone else had a hand in his death.

Re: Sad news
I just wanted to say that Scott had a very touching memorial service yesterday. Scott K. and I were there to represent the BRR, and it was moving to see the 100+ people that attended to celebrate his life.
May you rest in peace buddy.

Scott K. and I were in the back on the right hand side during the service (when facing the front). At the grave site, we were right up front opposite Stratton's mom. Sorry we missed you.

Re: Sad news
sorry to bring up a sad thread but I wanted to join and introduce myself. I'm Matt Quick, Scott's best friend since 10th grade. At the funeral I was the guy who was a wreck and crying like crazy. We were room mates for some time back when we were at Virginia Tech. I was always close with Scott's mom as she's one of the sweetest women I've ever met. Now we're even closer and stay in touch regularly. I am in the Army stationed at Fort Hood, TX but I have a 17 week school at Fort Lee, VA this summer. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and wanted to touch base with you all. I saw that y'all retired his number and named an event after him. I almost started crying all over again. I still can't believe he's gone. I am also a car guy but nowhere near as talented or knowledgeable as Scott or many of you I'm sure. I've done 2 track days on a road course and that's it for tracking. I hope to get some seat time at VIR while I'm there though! I have an '03 porsche 911 turbo that I'm bringing to VA and I plan on purchasing a 2011 4 door golf tdi to use as a daily since my e30 only works when it feels like it (a work in progress).
anyway, I'll hang out on here for a while and maybe come to some events while I'm there if I can!
