SARRC at VIR event hotel
Does anyone know if there is an "event" hotel for the SARRC race at VIR in October with room blocks? I was trying to book a room and almost everything is full, or cost $200 a night.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: SARRC at VIR event hotel
NCR usually uses Stratford Inn – 2500 Riverside Drive/Route 58, 1-434-793-2500
They reserve a bunch of rooms for workers/officials and racers. If things are filling up, all those rooms may be taken.

Re: SARRC at VIR event hotel
Sups and the schedule for Goblins Go is posted on the NCR website http://www.ncrscca.com/drivers.htm#GoblinsGo it also lists places to stay. It is the same weekend as the Martinsville NASCAR race, hence the full/overpriced hotels.
NCR is now using the Innkeeper in Danville as the region's hotel. I think the Stratford Inn is sold and is planned to be torn down.
If the hotels in Danville are full, try the Yancyville Days Inn (about 20 minutes away), it was $70 last year for one night.
With VIR having nice showers, I camp most of the time.
And the race car has been repaired and painted, thanks to Chris Kirby helping with the painting, so it looks like the picture in the avatar again!!!

Thanks for the input, hotel is booked. Inn Keeper West has a couple rooms left at $59.99 a night under the SCCA block

I made reservations last month at the Sleep Inn Airport- $139/ night (ouch). Thinking now about just commuting, have to see. Depends on if we do anything besides the SARRC.

Oh well, I was planning on running this event but I forgot about the RA-1 vs. R888 detail. All I have are RA-1's. Have fun guys

Re: SARRC at VIR event hotel
My plans for the race weekend have changed also. A few days after getting back from working the Runoffs, my company was sold, then a week later I was given walking papers.
The plan was to run the enduro and the sprint race on Sunday, now the plan is to help with the Pace Car that weekend.
If you are still free that weekend, come on down, socialize and even work Flagging or Timing.
