What should we do on May 19?

Post by rschumin »

In another thread Anthony asked if we were still having a test and tune on May 19. The answer is we're not sure. Those of us who drove karts at VIR last year had a great time. This would be a good weekend to do that again.

So here are the options for May 19.

1. Have a Test and Tune - Max of 40 drivers. Cost = $25.00/driver
2. Drive karts @VIR for 2 hours. Need a minimum of 20 drivers @ $50/driver.
3. Do nothing on May 19.

I wont be able to attend a Saturday event. I am quite sure of this since I am now at the Post Office and Saturdays are pretty much work days from now on.

I have never been to VIR and never driven karts before so I am voting for that as it sounds like a blast.

Okay I'm a little less "extatic", but I'll be optimistic. I've still never been to a real track.

Mercer county airport.

Not to draw off topic from this thread , but I wasn't sure how to start a new one.

I was checking through the newspaper for today and found that there is going to be an open MCA authority meeting on the 19th of April at 0900 hrs(9:00a.m.) being held at the airport.
The reason I am sending this is I wanted to know if anyone thought there might be a way to produce a case to them on how the BRR-SCCA can give the local economy a boost whenever they come to town. I don't know if this is anything anyones willing to look at, but it could be a decent suggestion. They will at least have to listen to what BRR has to say with everyone that matters sitting right there.
I got nothing...

You could come down to North Carolina and join us for the weekend at Wolf Ridge Resort for the Wolf Ridge Hillclimb. http://www.scenicwolfresort.com/
